Real Estate Agent Faces $25 Million Law Suit For Blog Post

by Robin Morgan on January 31, 2008

Lucas Lechuga is a Miami, FLorida Real Estate Agent (formerly of the firm, EWM who is also being sued) who has been sued for libel to the tune of 25 Million by Real Estate developer, Tibor Hollo. Lechuga had some negative things to say about Tibor’s Opera Tower condo in a blog post.

The libel issue is raised because Lucas wrote that the buyers should be concerned about the project since the Opera Tower’s development company went Bankrupt in the 80’s. The developer claims that although they did have some financial problems, they never went Bankrupt and that Lucas’ post has had a substantial negative impact on his business – hence the $25 Million law suit.

There’s a great post and a video clip on this at the How to Split an Atom Blog.
