I got back from San Diego late yesterday evening and will be covering the high and low lights of the NAR Conference and the San Diego RE Barcamp over the next few weeks.
The short version is that RPR (Realtors® Property Resource™) dominated everyones conversation. The creation of a NAR national property database has the potential to turn the real estate industry on it’s head. The RPR team attempted to understate it’s impact preferring to highlight the positives to both Realtors and the collective MLS. Expect to see far more commentary about RPR over the next several months.
The San Diego RE Barcamp was the best I have ever been too. Amazing commentary summed up (I apologize) by a bathroom conversation I overheard:
Agent 1:
“I’ve learned more in the last 15 minutes here than in months with my broker”
Agent 2:
“Me too. I went to lunch with some of them and wrote 20 things down before we started eating. The other side of this is you realize how much you aren’t doing. These guys are out there and we need to catch up and get involved.”
And you can as soon as tomorrow. Get involved in the first Virtual RE Barcamp. It’s free, has some amazing speakers and doesn’t require travelling.
