Sexist Condo Ad Pulled

by Stephen M. Fells on April 30, 2010

As reported on the CBC News Website, the following ad, part of a series placed in men’s restrooms at several Calgary, Canada nightclubs, was pulled because of the sexist message. There is a fine line between fun and offensive entertainment, does this cross that line?

I think this ad hovers close enough to the line to warrant being pulled.

Why is it sexist? It doesn’t say whether the blonde is male or female! Perhaps you are the one who is sexist!

Behold! Forbear to judge, for we are sinners all! Is thou not sexist? Time shall unfold what plighted cunning hides. Who cover faults, at last shame them derides. For ‘Taming of the Shrew’ is thou most excellent example in sexism and so of your hypocrisy! ;)

how has our society come to this? nobody can take a joke any more. we have to measure everything we say for fear that we might possibly offend someone. sexist? yes, no, who gives a damn? its tongue in cheek humor, deal with it. move on with life and dont dwell on small stuff like this. its not like its a personal attack on a specific person.
