Control What You See on Facebook

Some know, many don’t; Facebook controls what you see.

For the purposes of this blog post we’ll keep things simple and will show you how you have some control over it.

First it’s important to understand that Facebook defaults to what it calls ‘Top Stories’ – that means it decides, based on lots of things, what it thinks you want to/should see. You can see this by clicking on ‘News Feed’ in the top left corner of your screen:

As you can also see, there is a ‘Most Recent’ option. Clicking this changes what appears in your Newsfeed so that ‘friends’ content is sorted chronologically.

Simple huh? Yes but an issue remains; Facebook defaults back to ‘Top Stories’ the minute you click away. This is more than frustrating and there is no suggestion that will change it soon or ever.
