Top Five Business-Growers

By: Team Double-Click

Team Double-Click

You may not have the financial resources to hire a full-time administrative assistant, receptionist, or marketing assistant to join your staff, but that doesn’t mean growing your business is out of the question. Read on to learn how to grow your business this year utilizing Team Double-Click® pay-only-for-what-you-use virtual assistants.

Hiring a full-time assistant to join your staff may not be in the plan this year, but growing your business should be on your must-do list for 2009.
Want to know the top five business-growth tasks you should be focusing on to keep your business moving forward? We asked our most successful clients what they were doing to grow their businesses right now. Here are their top picks:

1. Cold calling

How do new clients and customers find you? If yours is like many companies, cold calling is a must to reach more and more people and more business. You have target markets and geographic regions which are preferred. But do you have the time (or the desire) to sit down and cold call all of those prospects in order to make the sales?

While we can’t speak for independent virtual assistants or other staffing agency’s virtual assistants, Team Double-Click’s virtual assistants are sent through a very thorough cold calling course. The cold calling course teaches them how to successfully get past gate keepers, how to effectively present products and services to the prospect, and how to gain the best advantage when it comes to making a sale.

Why not pass that icky cold calling task and your list of prospects on to a virtual assistant and watch your business grow?

2. Lead follow up

Your company’s quick follow up (or lack of) to new, inbound leads gives potential clients a glimpse into what working with your company will look like. Additionally, if you don’t follow up fast enough, experts agree that the potential client will quickly move on to someone who either answers their call on the first try or calls back quickly. Missed lead follow up results in lost sales. Period.

Make sure there is always time for quick lead follow up. If you don’t have time to personally follow up with leads, have your virtual assistant follow up for you. It’s quite simple to create a list of common FAQs to pass along to your virtual assistant so she can answer any question that comes along. It’s equally easy to educate your virtual assistant on your company’s product and service offerings so he or she can seamlessly follow up with and reel in new clients for you.

3. Social networking

These days, social networking on sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, Plaxo, and others is all the rage. And with good reason. They’re helping businesses connect with new prospects and new clients.

However, it’s hard to find the time to sit down in front of the computer long enough and consistently enough to get maximum value from the hundreds of social networking sites out there. With social networking, consistency is key. Your virtual assistant can efficiently and consistently use these social networking sites to drive new business your way.

4. Internet marketing

It goes without saying that if your business is on the internet in any manner, getting your internet marketing done and done well is a must. And again, consistency is the key to making internet marketing a success.

Again, while we can’t speak for independent virtual assistants or other staffing agency’s virtual assistants, Team Double-Click’s virtual assistants are sent through a very thorough internet marketing course. The course teaches them internet marketing trends, terms and principles, web analytics, affiliate marketing, search marketing, blogging, social media, email marketing, and digitally enhanced productivity strategies.

These virtual assistants can unleash those internet marketing talents on marketing your business on the internet and bringing new clients your way.

5. Customer service/reception

First impressions are often made when a client calls your company. Do your phones roll to voice mail? Or worse still, do they go nowhere when you’re out of the office? In economy like this, you can’t afford to miss an incoming phone call from either a current client or a prospective client.

Make sure your phones are always answered, your current customers taken care of, and potential clients get their questions answered and are shown how to become a new client by having a virtual assistant answer the phones for you. You gain instant “bigger company status” by not answering the phones yourself. And what’s more, if you are out of the office, your customers and potential customers still receive the assistance they need. Since virtual assistants only “clock in” when they’re performing your tasks, you don’t pay for unproductive standby time.

Talented virtual assistants are available for either ongoing work through Team Double-Click® or direct placement through our new Direct Placement Virtual Assistant Program. With ongoing work through Team Double-Click® you receive all of the benefits of working through an agency, such as ongoing virtual assistant coaching, we do the hiring and firing, we do the billing and payables, etc. With our new Direct Placement Virtual Assistant Program, for just a $495 one-time fee, we’ll expertly match you with one of our screened and trained virtual assistants and then you’re free to work directly together. Most clients enjoy savings of more than 50% without the ongoing agency fees, etc.

May, Mothers and Many Feelings of Gratitude

What a beautiful time of the year! I love the Spring for the feeling of energy that it brings! I hope if you have a mother or are a mother, that you were able to connect with mother-love this past weekend, even if it was just in memories. My sweet kids made a wonderful brunch with strawberries, shrimp and mimosas! Frolicking with the little ones is my idea of bliss.

It got me thinking how very blessed I am. I have made it a habit, first thing in the morning when I wake and last thing at night before I go to sleep, to give thanks for all I have. I know The Law of Attraction has had a lot of skeptics that say it doesn’t work, but I have found The Law of Gratitude must be part of the process. Remember, You get more of what you concentrate on! What are you thoughts each day? Is it awe and thankfulness for what you do have or a striving or concern over something you don’t have yet!? Monitor your thoughts and find dozens of reasons what you have is perfect and wonderful, and you’ll find each day is happier. And when you are happier, you attract happier stuff!!! I am waiting, BTW, somewhat patiently for my Hawaii house, my Mercedes 500 and my $10,000,000. What is coming towards you???

Happy May! Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Thoughts!

WCR & NAR DC Meetings

I am looking forward to connecting and catching up with my WCR friends from all across the country. This meeting is particularly exciting for me, because my name is in front of the Nominating Committee as the 2010 Nation Financial Secretary. WCR has given much to me and I would love to give back! I will let you know how that comes out!

I am the vice-chair this year of the WCR Business Development Steering Committee. Our meeting on Friday morning is going to be a great session with Tech Diva, Amy Chorew, and fellow members, Frances Flynn Thorsen, Liz Callihan, Sylvia Seabolt, Barb Cooper and me! We’ll be doing a hands-on for tech and social media questions! Come join us if you are there.

Tech tip: DC Tweet Up

How cool is this? And, perhaps you’ve never heard the term…a Tweet-up is an in-person meet up of the peeps (Twitter talk for people) you know from www.Twitter.com. We are meeting at Olives at 8:30 PM on Wednesday night. It is right across the street from the WCR hotel, The Capital Hilton (16th & K). Come gather with us! And if you haven’t gotten on Twitter yet…come anyway and bring your computer and we’ll show you how! Follow me on twitter….. @joeann or www.twitter.com/joeann

15 Topics to Get the Most Clicks with Your Trulia Pro Ad

Written by: Frances Flynn Thorsen, SRS, e-PRO, CEO Socialebb Strategies and Solutions

Frances Flynn Thorsen

It is 2009. Print advertising is on the way out. Online real estate has passed the tipping point. It is time to move on. There are numerous opportunities to spend money online. Many of those methods require complex calculations and another bowl of alphabet soup to digest – CPI, PPC, CPM. Trulia is an excellent place to start an online advertising campaign. First, there is abundant consumer traffic at Trulia and it makes sense. Second, the advertising model is EASY. Third, It is inexpensive.

There are three components of a Trulia Pro advertising campaign – Spotlight Ads, Featured Listings, and Enhanced Statistics reporting for seller clients. The trick to success in online advertising is the same as the trick to success anywhere – Differentiate Yourself!

Discover what most agents are doing, then do something different!

In real estate spotlight advertising, most agents are constructing ads featuring their profile picture and a link to their web sites. With few exceptions, there are more click throughs on ads without agent photos than on ads with agent photos.

The following topics will attract click throughs on your Trulia Pro spotlight ad:

1. Advertise a Listing – Use a photo of a listed property, and write a descriptive title in less than 35 characters that evokes an emotion, NOT the property address. Use words in the description that entice and engage. Link the ad to a page that is devoted solely to this property, the Trulia listing page or another page containing your contact information. Do NOT link to your profile page or the home page of your real estate web site.

2. Foreclosures – Buyers are looking for bargains, and foreclosures generate lots of click throughs. If you list bank properties, consider featuring one in your spotlight ad. See example at right, a Trulia Pro spotlight ad created by Arizona REALTOR Yvonne Coelet. If you do not have a current bank owned listing, consider designing a landing page that features HUD homes or other information relative to the purchase of bank owned homes.

Frances Flynn Thorsen

3. Auctions – Construct an ad for a property available at auction or for a group of properties. Include the date of the auction in the descriptive text to create a sense of urgency attached to the ad. Remember to replace the ad following the auction date.

4. Losing Your Home? – Consider running an ad that is a Public Service Announcement with a link to resources that will help distressed homeowners avoid foreclosure. Alternate that ad with others in the course of a month. Distinguish yourself for community service and outreach.

5. Buyer Agent – A spotlight ad is a terrific vehicle for a buyer’s agent. Consider writing an ad that explains the importance of sole representation in the home buying process. Establish yourself as a sole agency evangelist.

6. Historic Properties – Vintage homes are the stuff of wonderful eye candy. Couple a photo with a great title and text and link to a page rich with photos and delicious property details.

Frances Flynn Thorsen

7. Home and Neighborhood Tours – Explore homes and neighborhoods and let your creative muses soar. Design virtual tours or videos as target links from a super ad.

8. Open House – Run a spotlight ad to feature an Open House, and include the date in the text. Don’t forget to replace the ad when the Open House is over.

9. Horse Properties – Let your imagination run wild with imagery and write text to appear the inner cowboy and cowgirl hiding in buyers everywhere.

10. Vacant Land – Spotlight ads are a great way to promote vacant lots and land. Where are the buyers? Experiment with out-of-area locales to market your listings.

11. Investment Properties – Do you have a listing with a good cap rate? Use it in the headline or text!

12. Real Estate Staging – Do you have staging credentials? Create an ad about an service highly important to sellers, and link it directly to a page that spells out the value proposition of a well staged home.

13. Mortgages and Lending – Was there ever more concern and confusion about mortgage lending? First-time home buyer programs, FHA financing, jumbo loans – there is no limit the appetite buyers and homeowners have for information in these troubled times.

14. Special Reports– Do you have special reports for buyers? Some premier template web sites like Point2 Agent have built-in report content. Use a screen shot of the cover of a report to illustrate the ad. Link to a sign-up page to collect contact information prior to delivering the report.

15. Home Buyer Seminar– Do you offer seminars? A spotlight ad is a perfect tool to draw attendees to your event – in person, on a teleconference, or to a Webinar. (Stay tuned for a future blog post about conducting teleconferences and Webinars for real estate buyers and sellers. Send me an e-mail and I will send information when I schedule the next FREE online event.)

Smiles and Laughter

I am at the Conversations Among Masters (#CAM09 on twitter) Coaching Conference in Branson Missouri this week. It’s a change for me, because I am a participant instead of a presenter. An elite group of international coaches have been invited here to further the conversation about how, as coaches, we can make a difference in the world. The first full day of the conference offered delight-filled moments and inspiring dialogue. First, being around 140 other Master Coaches is a mind expanding atmosphere. It’s like the biggest mastermind group I could imagine peopled by minds and hearts that are working at incredible levels. I am honored to be among my colleagues to soak in the wisdom, energy and love that is rampant. It reminds me how important it is to surround yourself with people and ideas who help you grow and evolve, instead of being a lone ranger.

The first presenter, Stephen Josephs, author of Leadership Agility: Five Levels of Mastery for Anticipating and Initiating Change, captivated us with an interactive presentation where we inquired into our stories and roles. We were asked in groups to look at where our self emerges through our roles and where we are submerged in a role. Where are you bringing your heart and soul into a role, and where are you letting the role submerge who you really are? He also shared some meditation & breathing practices and exercises he uses with the executives he coaches, designed to bring ease, energy and love present. I am reminded how slowing down, being present and grounding myself always make me feel more focused, less stressed and able to accomplish more effectively. Is this how you’ve been feeling? Is there an practice you should be including daily?

When he spoke of love, he gave us a smile exercise. It is so simple to shift feelings by intentional actions. Smiling is something we all can do and actually has been documented to make us healthier. Stephen taught us to bring a smile all the way into our body and then expand it so that that is what is present. He also had us find tight places and bring them present and fill them with the smile. It was quite amazing to feel what happened when this was done! You know, I sign all my correspondence, “Hugs and Smiles” I hope when you see this (or me) it is a reminder to put a smile on your face and bring the healing qualities that come from this to yourself.

In the afternoon, Yakov Smirnoff, a Russian comedian and University Professor, took us into the depths of laughter and love. He shared poignant and hysterical stories of his life, including consulting with President Reagan and his movie career. Throughout, he wove through the question of how to bring more love and laughter into our lives and the lives of our clients. As you can imagine, this was a wonderfully interesting inquiry. He shared the story and a film clip of a couple who had been married 75 years. When asked the secret to their bliss, she said,” he makes me laugh.”
He said,”she laughs.” The perfect combination of performer and audience! My husband, Bub, believes, “If you are not enjoying yourself, you’re doing it wrong” and his ability to find the humor and share the laughter with me has sustained us for 31 years! How fortunate I am to have a soulmate like him.

So…this week…

Coaches Tip: Smile on purpose more often. Try meditating and bring your smile all the way into your body; into your stomach and liver and lungs and heart. Find someone to laugh with!

Getting What You Expect!

How do you start your day? Which side of the bed do you get up on??? You know…is it the right side? OR????? Try this simple technique to set your intentions and expectations for the day and give yourself a really great place to start from. Do you realize how much power you possess about what happens each day? It amazes me when I stay conscious to it, instead of rolling out of bed and seeing what happens. Start the day with gratitude that you woke in a nice warm bed and saying to yourself: “It’s going to be a wonderful day.” This sets up a nice filter through which the events of the day will come through. Try this for a week and see how those days are different (or not) from days as usual.

I’ve been enjoying some weekly audio interviews that Speaker, Healer, Author, Jennifer McLean offers. Last week she interviewed Dr. Judith Orloff who has a new book, Emotional Freedom: Liberate Yourself from Negative Emotions and Transform Your Life, and shared some wonderful tips on staying away from the negative. One theme she shared was to look at EVERY single experience as a growth opportunity and to be aware of what that situation is teaching you. In my coaching training, I have found the stuckness that occurs for many clients is not learning anything from a previous lesson and getting to revisit the same situation in different clothing, over and over and over. By becoming more aware and LEARNING the lesson, you can evolve and move to the next place. I loved the quote from the Dalai Lama who said, ”When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.”

Coach’s Tip:

Start your day with an intention that it be wonderful and then look for evidence all that that it IS!

Examine if there are places you are stuck that you could recontexualize the meaning you have attached to the circumstances, and accept the lesson that is there to help you grow.

How Smart Are You??? – Now is the time to get more educated!

As we experience the natural cycles of real estate, making time to raise our standards and knowledge to the next level can place us in a strong position for the future. Take time now to sign up for that class you know would make a difference. Is it a tech class? Or a social networking class? Below are some things I’ve got going on. Hope one will fit your needs.

1. ONLINE: I am excited to now offer Online Real Estate CE Courses
To celebrate, I have a present so you can try it out and save…….. you can save 10% on any class! Use discount code “newslettercode”.

If you are not in those states and would like for me to offer classes in your state, let me know and we’ll see if we can add it.

2. In Person….come to the White Mountains of Arizona on Friday, May 1st.
I’ll be giving a class called It’s A Wonderful Life! You’ll have fun, learn about technology, marketing and business planning!

3. In Person: My School calendar for AZ CE Classes is here. Frances Flynn Thorsen is offering some great classes on buying HUD Homes and Also on Social Media Risk Reduction in the next couple of months.

4. TELECONFERENCE: Ask an expert… ‘How to tap the 6-figure 18-34 1st time
Home Buyer Market’ – Live on May 11 at 8 PM EDT with Justin Zimmerman, real estate technology expert, Realtor and blogger at GoodMorningRE.

Some of what we will be talking about is:

+ learn how this market gets it’s information
+ why social networks are important
+ how to be accepted as a youthful agent
