Five PowerSite Tips

Our customers understand the value of creating a Website for each property. Whether you already have tons of live PowerSites or you’re just thinking about the idea, we thought you’d like to hear our top five tips for making the most of your PowerSites.

1. Add More Photos: How important are photos? Consider this: 80 percent of buyers start their home search on the Internet and the number one thing they are looking for is photographs. PowerSites allow you to upload up to 100 pictures.

Tip: Did you know you can add a caption to each photograph? Taking a few moments to describe each photo will allow you to create a virtual open house for prospective buyers. Let them know exactly what they are looking at and help them notice the features YOU want them to see!

2. Add More Text: PowerSites allow unlimited text to describe your listing – the second thing that buyers are most interested in. No need to use abbreviations here! Describe all of the property’s best features and details; include descriptions and measurements of each room as well as information about the home’s architecture and any updated systems. Consider describing the area. Homebuyers from out-of-town will appreciate knowing what services are nearby.

Tip: In addition to buyer engagement, the more content or text that you include on your PowerSites, the more likely it is that the search engines will rank your site higher.

3. Use Custom Links: People don’t just buy homes – they buy into communities. Paint a picture of the area for your buyers by adding custom menu links to local restaurants and entertainment, parks and recreation areas, schools and community centers, and historic sites and other points of interest.

Tip: Custom pages and links can be stored within your account so they can be reused for future listings in the same area. You can even use this section to add links to specific pages on your Website or other property listings.

4. Stay Current: Simple maintenance will keep your site fresh and relevant. Remove information about past open houses, for instance. Make sure the property status is accurate as well.

Tip: You can change your PowerSite as often as you wish, alter the price, property status and even change the pictures to reflect the seasons. This way, you can avoid your listing looking “stale” and vulnerable to lower offers.

5. Always Spell Check: Clients want to know their agent will pay attention to detail. Make a good impression and prevent those embarrassing mistakes by running a spell check. It is a simple and quick measure that will protect you from appearing less than perfect.
