Austin, TX – February 16, 2016 ( Keller Williams, the world’s largest real estate franchise by agent count, was recognized by Training magazine, the leading business publication for learning and development professionals, as the No. 2 training organization across all industries in the world.

The company also received an Outstanding Training Initiative Award for its Leadership Week training, a course offering focused on the development of business leaders.

“We are honored to be named as a top training organization,” said Chris Heller, CEO, Keller Williams. “At our core, we’re an education-based, innovation-focused organization. And we’re committed to providing our associates with the best training to grow their businesses throughout the world.”

On February 15, Keller Williams received the top honor at Training magazine’s annual awards gala in Orlando, Fla. For the third consecutive year, Keller Williams placed inside the Top 5 on the Training Top 125, which ranks companies’ excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs. The company has also previously placed on the Training Top 125, outside the past three years.

“Everything we do comes from our top associates so we know it works at the highest level,” said Bryon Ellington, chief learning officer, Keller Williams. “We’re bringing the best minds in real estate together to share, collaborate and learn from each other.”

The Training Top 125 ranking is based on myriad benchmarking statistics such as total training budget; percentage of payroll; number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement, and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs.

“At Keller Williams, we’re not only an open-books company, we’re an open-learning company,” said Dianna Kokoszka, CEO, KW MAPS Coaching. “The leaders of our company have fostered a culture of collaboration because we know that together everyone achieves more.”

The Training Top 125 ranking is also determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.

“Because of our focus on training, we attract more new agents than other real estate franchises,” said John Davis, president, Keller Williams. “As a commissioned-based industry, our challenge is to guide thousands of new associates through our training programs so they get into production quickly and build their businesses. This creates more opportunities for them and their families.”

Realtors Raise Fair Housing Awareness in Local Communities

Washington, April 02, 2012 ( As the leading advocate for homeownership and housing issues, the National Association of Realtors® will join the nation in honoring Fair Housing Month this April.

This year marks the 44th anniversary of the 1968 landmark Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap. NAR also supports equal opportunity on the basis of sexual orientation, incorporating that support into the Realtor® Code of Ethics.

“Realtors® embrace our country’s racial and ethnic diversity and strive every day to make the benefits of homeownership accessible to everyone,” said NAR President Moe Veissi, broker-owner of Veissi & Associates Inc., in Miami. “Anyone who is able and willing to assume the responsibilities of owning a home should have the opportunity to pursue that dream. Realtors® work tirelessly to uphold fair housing laws in their local communities and provide equal professional service to everyone.”

NAR’s Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity program offers Realtors® education, grants, programs and events related to fair housing and diversity. Various grants help Realtor® associations play leadership roles in their communities through three initiatives; diversity, smart growth and housing opportunity grants. These grants help associations and their members reach out to and better serve today’s diverse clientele.

NAR also offers several training courses for Realtors® and Realtor® associations. The At Home with Diversity® course addresses the topics of diversity, fair housing and business planning development in a full-day certification course. NAR’s Employer-Assisted Housing Class gives Realtors® tools to work with local employers, helping them implement employer-assisted housing benefits to help employees become home owners. Leading with Diversity is a workshop for local Realtor® associations that helps bring more diversity to the leadership of the Realtor® community. Other courses touch on affordable housing opportunities, as well as the benefits of smart growth communities and how to help communities adopt a smart growth strategy.

“NAR strongly encourages its members to work with their local municipalities or counties as they conduct fair housing planning activities,” said Veissi. “Realtors® live and work in their communities and are committed to implementing strategies to stop discriminatory behavior and promoting important issues such as inclusion, diversity and fairness in the housing market.”

The National Association of Realtors®, “The Voice for Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing 1 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

This is a two hour course that will walk new bloggers through the basics of blogging on the WordPress platform.

Why is it special? The Real Estate Tomato doesn’t normally train the basics of using WordPress here on TU reserving these topics for their Real Estate Tomato Website Packages. Their main focus on TU is generally on marketing techniques, assuming that most of their audience is already somewhat familiar with the platform. Well… popular demand has shown them otherwise so they are trying out this intense, 2-hour, everything-you-always-wanted-to-know-about-using-WordPress class with the intentions of adding it to their regular quarterly calendar.

The class will include in depth discussions on the following:

  • Creating and Editing Posts & Pages
  • Article Styling
  • Finding, Sizing & Placing Images
  • Creating and Managing Links
  • Understanding Categories & Tags
  • Sidebar & Widget Control
  • A WordPress Plugin Primer
  • Basics of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Development of Writing and Topic Strategies
  • Basics of Real Estate Blogging.

Due to the limited length of the class, and not wanted to completely overwhelm students, some of the advanced topics will be limited in their depth. Many of these advanced subjects are expanded upon in other Tomato University classes.

Please note, this class does not include instructions on installation of WordPress and the assumption is that you already have a site set up. If you do not yet have a WordPress based website, please contact Tomato University and they’ll get started.

Please Note:

  • All classes are LIVE Webinars.
  • It is imperative that you begin logging into the class at least 5 minutes before the class start time. Accessing the class can take a few minutes depending on your internet connection.
